Award Winning Design & Service

Our Story

1991: I began making furniture for family and friends from a small workshop at our family home in Kilquade. Word of mouth and recommendations helped me grow my client base throughout that busy first year.

1992: I moved the workshop from Kilquade to a larger premises in Ashford, County Wicklow, where I employed two skilled cabinet makers. Although we were a small business at the time, our unrivalled customer service and attention to detail meant that there was a huge demand for our hand crafted furniture.

2005: With our workshop in Ashford at full capacity we knew we needed another move, and only two miles down the road we found our current premises in Rathnew.

2014: We were delighted to win our first Design Award for one of our bespoke hand painted kitchens.

2015: For the second year running we were awarded a Design Award for our creative approach to kitchen design.

2016: In 2016 we celebrated our 25th year in business by extending our showroom area to showcase our latest design collections. We also received our third Design Award for kitchens.

2017: We were delighted to win two prestigious awards for Kitchen Design and Customer Service, something the entire company prides itself on.

2018: We received two more awards in 2018 for Customer Service and Kitchen Design. We also introduced a new range of door designs, one of which was used in our latest award-winning kitchen.

2020: Despite the ‘stop-start’ year due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, we won another two awards, for design and customer service.

2023: Today we have the best design talent in the industry and a small team of highly skilled craftsmen making the finest built-in furniture for the luxury interiors market in Ireland and abroad. And to celebrate our 30th year in business, we pledged to become Ireland’s first, 100% carbon-neutral kitchen company by 2025.

The Process

The Process

'I understand that you are making a lifetime investment in your home and require a professional team to work with you from start to finish. As our client, you will receive our unrivaled customer service and design expertise from our team of highly skilled cabinet makers and award-winning designers.'

- Noel Dempsey

Step 1: Design and Estimate

Option 1. We can provide you with an initial estimate based on a design provided by you or your architect. This will give you an idea of the costs involved with a bespoke kitchen from us. This service is free of charge and usually takes up to 14 days to complete.

Option 2. Our designers can spend time working on your kitchen design including a complete re-design of the space if required. This may include moving doors, walls, or windows to give you the optimal kitchen layout. This will include some preliminary 3D visuals. There is a lot of time involved in this design stage so we do ask for a design fee of €500 per room for this service. This fee is deducted from your final quote when the order is placed. These visual design drawings are currently taking up to 3 weeks to prepare.

Option 3. Noel will meet you in your home to survey the space and discuss your specific requirements. This service is useful when you don’t have an architect or any detailed drawings for us to work from. The fee for the home visit service is €1,500 (plus travel expenses for overseas clients) and is deducted from your final quote when you place your order with us.

Step 2: Order Confirmation

Once a booking deposit has been received we will visit your home to gather the final dimensions before the furniture goes into our production schedule. This ensures that your selected furniture is custom-made to the exact measurements of your room. We will then liaise with the relevant trades and furnish a complete set of technical drawings to ensure a seamless installation process.

Step 3: Installation

Your installation process is overseen by Noel and Stephen Dempsey to ensure that it meets our extremely high standards. Their attention to detail has made Noel Dempsey Design Ireland's leading kitchen and furniture manufacturer.

After the installation has been completed your new furniture will be cleaned and ready for the handover. You can now enjoy many happy years with your beautiful new furniture
